Lourdes is a town in the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains in southwestern France. It is known for the Sanctuaires Notre-Dame de Lourdes. Each year, millions of pilgrims visit the Grotto of  the Apparitions where, in 1858, the Virgin Mary appeared to a Bernadette. The faithful drink or bathe in the water flowing from a spring in the Grotto to use its healing power and create their own miracles.

This collage of Lourdes is the the first of our pilgrimage series. In the series we would like to take you on a pilgrimage to sacred and holy places. In this image we intentionally connect Our Lady of Lourdes, France to Our Lady of Ngome, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. We honour Her Grace that guides and nurtures our spirits and sustains our faith. We ask Her blessing for peace and prosperity in Africa.
