Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky was a Russian painter and art theorist who is generally credited as the pioneer of abstract art. Born in Moscow, on 16 December 1866, Kandinsky spent his childhood in Odessa, where he graduated at Grekov Odessa Art school. Died 13 December 1944 in France.
